Commission a portrait.

In an age of mass production a portrait is still a piece of unique and personal Fine Art. It captures the moment and provides a wonderful way to preserve the essence of a personality. As time passes it breathes life into a distant memory and can provide a wonderful heirloom for future generations.

I aim to produce an image that is more than just a likeness and is, hopefully, a relevant observation of our time. I seek to capture the defining qualities of my subject, resulting in a picture that you and future generations will cherish. If I paint you, it is my hope that you will find the experience both interesting and enjoyable.

If preferred, it is also possible to sit for your portrait via FaceTime, Zoom, Skype and even WhatsApp Video.

Method of working
Price Guide

As a rough guide I need between 3 to 10 sittings. The inclusion of hands, pets and a specific background will take more time and cost a little more. I will make preliminary sketches and I may take photos for reference where necessary. I work from my notes between sittings. I like to discuss with a client their expectations and to have an input with regards to lighting, clothing and setting so that the resulting work satisfies us both. To my mind a portrait needs to be more than just a likeness if it is to be a relevant and enduring artwork.
