Just returned from the inspirational galleries of Florence, notably the Galleria Del' Accademia and the Uffizi.

I have spent the last few weeks studying the sight size portraiture technique promoted by the Charles Cecil School in their studios in San Frediano and Piazza Donatella.

My grandfather, who inspired my own artistic creativity, spent two years lecturing Fine Art and History of Art in Florence in the 1950's. Unsuprisingly I suppose, I now find that I've been reunited with the glazing techniques and limited palette that he also used in his work.
